Ashelii Rabelo, Founder of Soma Educational Group & HKHL

Ashelii Rabelo, is the founder of Soma Educational Group, and a Holistic Nutritionist based in New York City. Ashelii initially holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Pratt Institute.

For several years during University and post graduation, she’d struggled with unexplained health issues. A few years post-graduation, Ashelii received an Autoimmune Disease diagnosis, in which she struggled to navigate at the time. But through a shift in nutrition, lifestyle and seeking alternative treatment methods, has reclaimed a higher quality of life and understanding of how to better care for herself. This personal experience inspired Ashelii to begin her Nutrition training and education, in efforts to helps others navigate their way to more optimal health and lifestyle practices.

She later met French Osteopath Guy Voyer and was exposed to Osteopathic treatment. At the time, it wasn’t very common for Americans to seek treatment from Osteopaths. This was a practice that was more common in Europe and Canada. After experiencing the value of these techniques from a patient perspective, Ashelii felt strongly that the next generations of practitioners should have access to alternative treatment modalities. And the general population should have access to highly qualified practitioners who understand the body as a whole, not in isolated parts. So she founded Soma Educational Group. “Soma” comes from Greek origin, meaning “body”. Some Educational Group’s focus is to bring forth valuable information and training within the health and wellness industry, via workshop, seminar and lecture format.

SEG began by offering the First three-year Fascia Fellowship Program in NYC, which eventually became what is now known as the SomaTherapy Program. Since then, SEG has hosted several Wellness Workshops and Training such as ELDOA Certification courses and more. We hand select educators and training modalities that we trust are valuable to the general public and practitioners looking to supplement their practice.

Today, Ashelii manages Soma Educational Group, hosting Educators from all over the globe. She also works with clients remotely, one-on-one for Nutrition Consulting and offers additional services through HealthyKitchenHappyLife.com.

He grew frustrated with the lack of results he experienced with traditional physical therapy. Upon recommendations from his colleague, he went to see Dr. Voyer. He credits his full recovery to the osteopathic manual therapy and the prescribed exercise program, he was able to get back on the court in just 5 weeks.

For the past 10 years Terry has studied both privately and at the Academy Sutherland of Osteopathy in Canada, under world renowned French osteopath, Guy Voyer, DO.  The advanced training allowed Terry to apply Dr. Voyer’s ELDOA method and articular pumping techniques to bring the body to a pain-free state and prevent future injuries. This radical new approach bridges the gap between osteopathic manual therapy and physical therapy. SOMAFIT is rooted in the analytical study of anatomy, fascia, and the tensegrity model of biomechanics.  Terry, is one of the few qualified to teach Voyer’s somatherapy and ELDOA Method.
